Celebrating a long birdie putt, enjoying a cocktail after the round, and a little friendly competition are three of many things that makes golf great. Those social aspects of golf are the goal of Events From the Drop Zone.
Coming off a successful 2023 event season with two events, the 2024 event schedule features two new events, a reimagined flagship event, and two new golf courses to the From the Drop Zone rota.
Get your swings ready and mark your calendars. Here are the 2024 Events From the Drop Zone.
Cart Rider Cup
May 18, 2024
Neshanic Valley Golf Course
The flagship event From the Drop Zone returns to Neshanic Valley Golf Course and takes on a new name with a slight change in format. The original Parkway Playoff is evolving in to the Cart Rider Cup a Ryder Cup-style match play event with three formats over 18 holes.
Two-player sides will compete on either Team Transfusion or Team John Daly, teams named after two of the most popular on-course and clubhouse beverages.
The first nine hole match will be contested over the unique Pinehurst format. In this format, players each hit a tee shot then play their partner's ball for the second shot. From there, sides select their best shot and play alternate shot until the ball is holed.
The next nine holes will feature four ball and singles matches played concurrently.
Matches won in each of the three "sessions" (Pinehurst, four ball, and singles) are worth one point; tied matches are worth a half of a point. The team with the most points wins the Cart Rider Cup.
Parkway Playoff
Coming August 2024
Charleston Springs Golf Course
After playing an event at Hominy Hill last year, From the Drop Zone heads to another spectacular Monmouth County public course: Charleston Springs.
The Parkway Playoff still features a North Jersey vs. South Jersey format, but this is taking on a new format.
In the Match of Cards format, each player competes against every other player on the opposing team in a match. Matches won are worth one point; ties matches are worth a half of a point. The team with the most points wins the Parkway Playoff. The loser pays the tolls.
The date of the Parkway Playoff will be announced soon.
